Iconic Shell & Core: Palo Alto’s answer to a Class A office development
1050 Page Mill Road is a four-building Class A office campus with a shared courtyard on 13.5 acres of property. The development includes below-grade parking levels for each building.
The basement parking level was built using cast-in-place concrete and post-tension (PT) concrete was utilized for the “lid” slab over the parking space. Additionally, reinforced concrete shear walls were used to resist lateral forces from the superstructure above. At the above-grade levels, steel framing was utilized. Lateral force resistance was provided by Buckling Restrained Braced Frames (BRBFs) and Special Moment Frames (SMFs) in parallel to optimize resistance while allowing for an open architectural plan.
