Austin Children’s Museum: Nothing child’s play about quality design

DCI Engineers is providing structural engineering for the new Austin Children’s Museum.  Currently, this innovative “museum without walls” is housed in a rented space in downtown Austin.  The new plans include an increase in its size, innovative exhibits, and more interactive public open spaces.

  • Includes extensive exterior finishing glazing on three sides.
  • Innovative use of mixed construction types including insulated concrete tilt panel, wood framing, cast-in-place concrete, and structural steel.
  • Includes modular exhibit space, meeting space, office and retail space, and other support spaces.
