Expanding the Engineering Sciences: Providing design solutions to accommodate the growing student population

DCI Engineers provided structural design services for this building, which was designed as a demonstration site for engineering principles that promote energy conservation and sustainability in design and construction.  The new PACCAR Center for Applied Science provides classrooms, offices, and computer labs for the student population.

Project Highlights

  • Three-story structure is framed with steel beams and concrete on metal deck. 
  • Green Building practices included management of natural light and solar energy, employing systems that make efficient use of resources, and the use of renewable, recyclable materials.
  • Includes 26,000-sf for offices and classrooms and 2,600-sf of laboratory space.
