MIRO

San Jose Skyline: Two-tower mixed-use development to shape urban experience
When completed, MIRO will be a two-tower mixed-use development in downtown San Jose offering 630 residential living units and 15,000-sf of retail at the base. Both the west and east towers will have landscaped rooftop decks. Residential amenities will include a variety of rooftop pools, basketball and bocce courts, and extensive entertainment rooms.
DCI Engineers designed the primary framing systems for MIRO. The team integrated rigid post-tensioned decks for the shared base building levels that support both tower structures to eliminate the need for any seismic gaps on this project. DCI designed a single shear core for each tower to speed up construction time and reduce overall costs.
Project Highlights
- The project’s performance based design process allowed the towers to achieve the height limits exceeding prescriptive code measures without utilizing the moment frames, or as a secondary lateral system.
- The grand entrance will be on E. Santa Clara Street and 4th Street.
- Four levels of above-grade parking and three levels of below-grade parking (total of 631 stalls).
