DCI’s Vice President Jeff Brink speaks to BISNOW about California’s updated building code which goes into effect January 1, 2020 and contains new seismic requirements influencing upcoming projects. Developers and project teams kicking off new projects in the state will be pushed to find viable options to lower construction costs with alternative building materials, such as cross laminated timber (CLT).

DCI ENGINEERS WINS WASHINGTON EXCELLENCE IN CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION AWARD FOR GEORGETOWN CROSSROADS

SEATTLE, Wash.  – October 4, 2019 – DCI Engineers, Prologis, Sierra Construction, and NELSON were recognized for their tilt-up concrete work on the three-story industrial warehouse project, Georgetown Crossroads. Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association (WACA) honored the project team as the winner of the “Low Rise 1-3 Stories Tilt Up” category. DCI Principal Danielle Jacobs oversaw the primary structural design for this first multi-level commercial warehouse in a dense metropolitan area within the United States.

DCI Engineers raises $76K for Childhaven

SEATTLE, Wash.  – September 16, 2019 -- DCI Engineers raised more than $76,000 for local non-profit Childhaven during the firm’s 31st annual golf tournament at the Golf Club at Newcastle last month. About 400 attendees from the AEC industries attended the fundraising event which was called “Luau on the Links.” A combination of 75 DCI and Childhaven staff volunteered their time to coordinate the festivities.
