DCI’s annual golf tournament was back on track after last year’s shelter-at-home hiatus. Many heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, donors, and staff who made 2021 a record-breaking fundraising achievement! We had a great turnout, typical Northwest marine weather, and the fastest play in our tournament’s history. The Seattle Seafair Pirates landed at the Golf Club at Newcastle and brought their parade boat, Moby Duck, for swashbuckling fun. For the whole day, the energetic Troy McVicker was master of ceremonies.
This post is the second of a two-part series focusing on the future of concrete practices and innovation in the architecture/engineering/construction (AEC) industries. The topics featured here are common discussions raised by DCI’s in-house concrete technical committee to further understand the latest technology and trends associated with structural concrete design.
“Our formal support of the SE2050 Commitment allows us to share our research and knowledge on embodied carbon as well as combine our efforts with like-minded groups to reduce the impact of the built environment pollution on our planet. While architects have been committed to the AIA 2030 Challenge focusing on operational energy for years, the focus now turns to the structural community.”
