Expert in the Spotlight: Kris Swanson

Kris Swanson has been working a lot with the new Diversakore framing system, and we asked him to explain it a little more in depth.  Thanks to him, we were able to gather some more information about the framing system and explain how DCI’s experience with it is valuable for certain projects.

What is the Diversakore system?

It's an alternate composite steel and concrete framing system utilizing conventional reinforced concrete encased in custom shaped steel plate shell, which acts both as steel reinforcing and a stay-in-place concrete form.

The Bullitt Center

As the greenest commercial building in the world, Seattle’s Bullitt Center has been getting a lot of attention.  Designed for a lifespan of 250 years, this office building features numerous characteristics that will help it meet the Living Building Challenge, which tests green buildings against the most rigorous performance standards in the world.

An Award-Winning Makeover

The Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP) recently held its annual Night of the Stars gala in downtown Bellevue, Washington. With all of the wonderful projects up for awards, it was a great surprise for one of DCI’s projects in Spokane, Washington received an award for the 2012 Redevelopment/Renovation Development of the Year!

Building of the Year: Swedish/Issaquah Medical Center

The Seattle Daily Jounral of Commerce recently announced that the Swedish/Issaquah Medical Center was voted Building of the Year by online readers!  The project received 2,700 votes out of a total of 7,153, and was up against some fierce competition!
