There’s so much reward in the engineering process – from the early and exciting stages of schematic design where ideas take shape to the completed product for satisfied end users.”

What started with an internship has since turned into a career with DCI for Sam Shastany. Prior to joining the firm in 2016 as a fulltime employee, Sam earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of Washington.

Today, he manages a variety of industrial, healthcare, residential, public, and commercial developments both locally and across the west coast. In addition to his projects, Sam helps manage department-wide standards, including the implementation of the latest technologies, along with mentoring staff and building client relationships.

Sam values the depth of work and closeness of his teams, particularly when working in his hometown of Spokane, along with his role of Chair of the Advisory Board for the Mead School District Engineering Program.
