An Earth Day Update

DCI's latest moves in sustainability-centered efforts

This Earth Day, we’re celebrating some of our recent and ongoing work in sustainable design. As a signatory firm for the SE 2050 Commitment, it’s not only our mission to reduce embodied carbon in our designs, it’s an obligation to our future. As increasingly more regions embrace stricter guidelines, we strive to meet our clients’ expectations by providing them with products that are smart, economic and sustainable.

2024 ECAP

In alignment with our SE 2050 Commitment, DCI has updated its Embodied Carbon Action Plan (ECAP) to reflect recent and ongoing work. This has included AIA-approved Embodied Carbon, Mass Timber and CALGreen presentations to clients, along with updated education and reporting plans which includes additional staff resources, learning paths, and development of our firm-wide embodied carbon baseline. You can view our updated ECAP here!

Sustainability & DEI

In conjunction with our SE2050 goals, DCI is prioritizing internal and local sourcing. This includes focusing on small businesses, engaging close-in-proximity vendors and reducing our environmental impact. We’ll have more details on how we’re combining our DEI and Sustainability work that aims to create a more equitable future!
