DCI Engineers Adds to Its Mass Timber Roster

SEATTLE, Wash. – June 23, 2020 -- DCI Engineers, a civil and structural engineering firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Ethan Martin, Associate, to the Portland office.

Ethan Martin, PE, is the Portland office’s newest Associate and member of DCI’s structural team with a focus on mass timber designs. Prior to joining DCI Engineers, Ethan served as the Northwest Regional Director at WoodWorks, the wood industry’s non-profit for advancing knowledge and technical support in commercial wood building projects across the United States. His background in mass timber code, permitting and design allows DCI to further leverage this innovative and sustainable construction method for clients across the west coast.

Ethan has collaborated with state officials to set new precedents in prescriptive building codes and contributed to the performance-based design of tall wood buildings. His DCI projects include Flatiron PDX, 120 Clay and Fair Haired Dumbbell. He also co-founded the International Mass Timber Conference with Forest Business Network in Portland.

As part of DCI’s roster of mass timber experts, Ethan will provide clients valuable knowledge and the confidence to pursue various types of mass timber solutions.
