DCI Engineers has announced William “Chet” Emmett, PE, Managing Principal of its Dallas office, bringing more than 30 years of engineering experience in the Dallas-Fort Worth market to the firm's growing Texas practice.
A Dallas native and University of Texas at Austin graduate, Chet built his career across healthcare, higher education, and sports and entertainment venues. He has also built and led his own structural engineering practice in the Dallas area, giving him firsthand experience growing a business in the same market he'll now help DCI expand.
"What drew me to DCI was the opportunity to keep building something in Dallas, but this time with the backing of a firm that already has the credentials, the reputation, and the resources behind it," Chet said. "That changes what's possible."
For clients, Chet's arrival means a local contact for DCI’s national platform of high-seismic and high-wind structural design expertise, continuing the firm’s availability for Dallas-Fort Worth projects that span market, material, and programming dynamics.
“Dallas-Forth Worth is an incredible city, and Chet joining our DCI team reinforces the commitment we have to our clients in that region,” noted Jeff Brink, DCI Engineers CEO. “Chet’s technical expertise and diverse experience will allow us to provide more local knowledge, responsiveness, and support on every project. We are ecstatic about the growth opportunities ahead.”
Chet is also looking to grow one service area in particular: mass timber. It's a system increasingly requested by architects in North Texas, and one he's eager to build out with DCI's existing technical resources behind him.
"Dallas-Fort Worth isn't slowing down, and neither are the expectations clients have for their engineering partners," he said. "I want our clients here to have both — someone who knows this market and a firm with the depth to back it up."
DCI's Dallas office has grown steadily since opening in the Turtle Creek neighborhood, supporting projects across the region's residential, hospitality, and commercial sectors. The addition of Chet reflects the firm's continued investment in the Dallas-Fort Worth market as one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the country.
