DCI's Heartwood project--a 67,000-sf, workforce housing apartment development for families making 60-100% of Seattle’s Area Median Income (AMI)--recently aired on CBS News' America by Design, presented by AIA.
As the first Type IV-C building in North America, Heartwood utilizes mass timber to provide a lightweight construction solution and is comprised of glulam beams and posts supporting cross-laminated floor panels through eight floors, providing more units compared to traditional light-frame construction.
