In between attending physics-focused classes at Linfield University (as the school didn’t offer an engineering degree), Tim spent his summers working for a general contractor where he poured foundations and framed stud walls. That experience, combined with his love and skillset in math, set Tim on the path for structural engineering.

Prior to joining DCI in 2013, Tim worked for a specialty heavy lift contractor where he provided plans required to move components at nuclear power plants, mines and loading docks. He credits this experience for developing/strengthening his fundamental structural steel analysis skills while travelling to places such as the southern U.S., east coast and Japan.

Tim is probably best known for helping develop and expand the firm’s precast concrete capabilities, transitioning the Montana offices from solely engineering for precast manufacturers to providing full design and detailing packages. This has translated to more cost effective services for clients.

What were your favorite classes in college?
I took a basic psychology and philosophy course that were both very interesting (and a great diversion from the math and physics onslaught)!

What is your favorite place, building or built environment where you live?
Somewhere out on a trail run at one of the many great recreation areas Missoula has to offer (Mt. Sentinel, Pattee Canyon, Blue Mountain, Dean Stone).

Where is your hometown?
Baker City, OR
