Morphotek Pilot Plant

Sustainable Steel Science: New LEED Gold lab facility gives production a shot in the arm

The new Morphotek Pilot Plant in Exton, Pennsylvania is a cGMP pilot manufacturing plant that has been researching monoclonal antibodies since it was first completed and opened in 2012. The 60,000-sf building is LEED Gold certified thanks to its low-energy use. The building has office space, labs, loading areas, cold storage rooms and culture suites in the steel framed building. This new lab allows Eisai Co. to manufacture five different products simultaneously.

I appreciate the collaboration process of what we do. There are so many different people in different disciplines—contractors, architects, developers, owners, engineers—that are taking a concept, an idea that is sketched-out, and turning it into a physical piece of the built environment.”
