On-Shore Capacity: Drug manufacturing facility supports domestic fulfillment demands

Selkirk Pharma built this state-of-the-art fill/finish facility to produce drug products on-shore for commercial-ready and clinical trial medication and vaccines. About 300 scientists, engineers, and technical support personnel conduct research, manage projects, and operate pharmaceutical production equipment for domestic fulfillment demands. The second level of the facility includes both office and mechanical equipment areas. This facility is the first completed building out of three planned for Selkrik Pharma’s campus in Pacific Northwest Technology Park.

DCI Engineers completed the structural engineering for the project, which included designing and detailing the steel superstructure, braced frames and moment frames, precast concrete tilt-up walls, and foundations. Early concrete and steel permit submittal packages were required to maintain a fast-track project schedule and to address supply chain concerns during the pandemic.

I enjoy all stages of a project; but, when construction has been completed, and all of the hard work and collaboration of the team has been transformed into a tangible product, that is when I find this job the most rewarding. Helping our clients achieve their vision is always a gratifying experience.”
