Modern Day La La Land: Downtown density and TOD urban living
Cumulus District is a 2 million-sf mixed-use development in LA’s Culver City area at the La Cienega/Jefferson Expo Line Metro stop. The transit-oriented development includes a 30-story high-rise and seven-story podium building – called VOX - surrounding a shared one-acre green space. DCI provided primary structural engineering services for the seven-story mixed-use podium building, which includes three below-grade parking levels, two concrete levels for at-grade parking and retail, a third-floor amenity deck with numerous courtyards and pool areas, and five levels of wood-framed residential floors.
The DCI Engineers structural team designed the entire structure, including foundations, basement walls and slabs, podium slabs, wood framed residential levels, and miscellaneous structures. DCI also provided complete construction administration.
