Responsibilities of an Associate Principal:

  • Provide leadership and coaching to the office team
  • Along with the office Principal, take responsibility for various aspects of information management, fiscal management, personnel supervision and recruitment, and strategic planning
  • Develop workload and scheduling projections for projects, along with coordinating and directing production of engineering project documents
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while developing relationships with new clients to bring in new business
  • Experience with post-tension and CIP concrete, steel, and wood-framed structures of varying size and complexity
  • A thorough understanding of seismic design, including performance-based design experience for concrete towers

Requirements for an Associate Principal:

  • 10+ years of structural and project management experience
  • Proven people management, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to lead by example and play a key role in establishing the spirit and culture of DCI
  • Ability to make sound judgments in decision-making and anticipating and solving project-related issues
  • Knack for marketing yourself and the company in order to develop business
  • Civil or structural engineering degree from an ABET accredited university. Master’s degree preferred
  • PE/SE license required
