With our new leased space, we're welcoming the Seattle Architecture Foundation (SAF) as a co-tenant, subleasing an area of the office to serve as administrative headquarters for the local non-profit.
“It will be invigorating,” Jim Bourey, SAF Executive Director, said of the move. “It’s an uplifting space in a vibrant part of downtown. We wanted a central location that was close for our members.”
SAF has 27 board members and aims to connect the community with the built environment through tours, lectures, and workshops and currently has three employees who will be working in the space.
The Foundation’s move was precipitated by the closing of the Center for Architecture and Design (CfAD), a space it shared with the American Institute of Architects, Seattle and Washington State Chapters, since 2016.
The Foundation sought a central location that would allow it to maintain its strong connections among AEC industry partners and community organizations, as well as access to conference rooms and available internet as well as other amenities. DCI’s proposal met all the needs of the Foundation and more.
Foundation Board of Directors President Pamela Trevithick, Partner with LMN Architects, said in SAF's press release, “We are delighted with the result of the RFP process; the new space will be a wonderful setting for the staff and provide great spaces for Board meetings as well as informal gatherings.”
