DCI Engineers, a leading structural and civil engineering consulting firm, currently has an opportunity for a Structural Project Engineer in  Coeur d'Alene, ID. With offices spanning from Alaska to the East Coast, DCI leverages a regional presence with national experience in 20 markets.

Responsibilities of a Structural Project Engineer:

  • Perform and coordinate the structural design of assigned projects under the supervision of the Project Manager
  • Collaborate with BIM Designers to produce structural construction documents and draft details in REVIT
  • Assist Project Managers with Construction Support, including shop drawing review and answering RFIs
  • Be attentive to details and provide accurate construction documents
  • Progressively grow your technical knowledge through both internal project experience and continuing education

Requirements for a Structural Engineer:

  • 0-5 years of structural engineering experience, as it relates to building design
  • Working knowledge and project experience using steel, concrete, wood, and masonry design materials
  • Experience designing all categories of gravity framing systems and lateral wind/seismic resisting systems
  • Experience designing all categories of seismic and gravity framing systems for every building and material type
  • Basic knowledge of design/build codes, such as the AISC, ACI 318, IBC, and ASCE 7
  • Working knowledge of structural analysis software, such as RISA 3D, RAM, ETABS, Enercalc, ADAPT, etc.
  • Ability to manage your time, juggling multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Desire to provide excellent service and build client relationships
  • Maintain a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Effective communication skills
  • Completion of a relevant internship with a structural engineering firm
  • Possess a state-issued Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate
  • Structural/Civil/Architectural Engineering degree from an ABET accredited university, preferred
  • Master’s degree preferred
