Making the grade for school environments.

The K-12 leaders at DCI Engineers are passionate about supporting the educational facilities in our communities across our 13 office locations, working hand-in-hand with school districts and their facilities & maintenance departments. We know the right questions to ask when we first collaborate about the design criteria. The K-12 project management team has contributed multiple structural solutions for learning environments that balance the issues of functionality, aesthetics, cost, and constructability.

Our work

As K-12 experts, we have been involved in district-wide Facility Conditions Inspections (FCIs) in multiple cities to aid in long-range planning, maintenance, and assessing future renovation or life-safety upgrades. We identify budget-sensitive and time-sensitive factors early in the project lifecycle, then develop a structural design concept to support architectural intent, performance, cost and schedule. For IDIQ contracts, DCI provides structural engineering services on an on-call basis for projects of any size, from securing stage curtain supports to a new addition to an elementary or high school - no project is too big or small.
