Religious

Refuge for spiritual community.

Our engineers have built sanctuaries for religious groups with long term visions to grow their communities and become a mainstay in a neighborhood. Community leaders rely on our engineering skill set so their worship center continues to be a service to others.

Our work

Our structural and civil teams have prepared sites and designed newly constructed worship centers; expanded or renovated existing churches; and repurposed existing commercial buildings into places of worship. The scope of work we’ve experienced range from detailing pre-engineered steel buildings, designing long-span construction, and reinforcing existing structural elements. Our civil engineers have coordinated site plans for property as large as 30-acres. When the built environment needs to adapt for the community, we’re the technical people who can help make it happen within budget.

Key Considerations

  • Cost efficient structural systems
  • Column-free floor layout/long-span roof design
  • Barreled roof/vaulted/cathedral ceilings
  • Expansion feasibility for new construction
  • Mezzanine design
  • Support for architectural features, such as rooftop domes
  • Standalone pre-engineered steel buildings
  • Adaptive reuse/change of occupancy
  • Renovation of existing structure
  • Seismic reinforcement
  • Retrofitting MEP systems
  • Roof repair
  • Depending on the project location, snow drift
  • Depending on jurisdiction, building height restrictions
  • Acoustics
  • Vibration
  • Ceiling loads (for lighting, speakers, audio visual or stage equipment)
  • Civil engineering needs
