DCI values working with clients toward project solutions that balance practicality and cost without compromising the creative integrity of a project.”

Shannon was drawn to structural engineering for the same reason she’s stayed with it: the balance between creativity and problem‑solving. With interests rooted in both artistic expression and analytical thinking, she found a discipline that allows ideas to take physical form while still demanding rigor and precision.

Since joining DCI in 2015, Shannon has worked across a wide range of structural materials and project types, with a strong focus on multistory residential, hospitality, and tenant improvement work throughout California and the western U.S. Her experience in light‑frame construction has shaped a practical understanding of how regional detailing, labor, and materials influence design decisions.

Shannon values collaboration and thoughtful problem‑solving, believing the greatest value comes from solutions that support a project’s vision while remaining practical and cost‑conscious. Known internally as a reliable and responsive teammate, she supports project teams, contributes to firmwide tools and training efforts, and helps guide projects from concept to reality.

What was your favorite class in college? Studio Art (elective, for fun class), Wood Design Studio
