AVISTA STOPLOG HANDLING CRANE

Lifts and Cranes: 15-ton crane assemblies maintain hydraulic power

The hydraulic dams at Cabinet Gorge and Noxon Rapids comprise of eight stoplog units per dam to isolate and dewater spillway gates. DCI Engineers was selected by the client to conduct a preliminary review of the existing tread loading and pipeline tractor stability. The facility owners chose a new 15-ton lifting mechanism for removing and installing stoplogs. DCI developed preliminary general assembly and hoisting framework fabrication drawings which detailed weldment and connections of the stoplog crane. The engineers also developed a crane installation manual.
