Equinox and Solstice Apartments

Affordable Housing with a Carbon Footprint: Award-winning sustainable housing development

The Equinox and Solstice Apartments is a two-building affordable housing complex developed by Homeword, a Missoula-based non-profit organization advocating sustainable housing in their community. The Equinox is a three-story residential building with 35 units; the Solstice is a mixed-use residential/commercial building with 34 housing units and 17,400-sf of ground floor commercial space. The apartment amenities include covered and sublevel parking, community room, computer room, and shared outdoor spaces next to the Clark Fork River.

DCI+BCE contributed designs to the primary structures of both buildings, which consist of concrete foundations, wood framing systems with steel components, and open web joist support for MEP systems and roof structures.
