Project Highlights
Interior has striking two-story high volume opening with an enclosed circular monumental stair.
The building is fully wired for technology at any point on any floor, except the underground parking garage.
Computerized book handling system automatically scans, processes and sorts books as they are returned.
Concrete joist framing system was chosen to support the library stack loads with minimal overall structural depth and the ability to conform to the curves of the architectural floor plan.
Concrete also has the advantage of thermal mass to assist in balancing heating and cooling of the building.
Roof structure designed with steel so that the arched architectural form could be achieved.
