JBER 047 POL Operations Facility

24-Hour Fuel Service: New facility will consolidate team functionality

When completed, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson’s 047 fuel operations facility will combine offices, a training room, and laboratory under one roof. The building and parking canopies will improve personnel safety and maintenance efficiency - and will operate 24 hours per day.

DCI is the structural engineer of record responsible for the primary framing design of the building and canopies. The scope of work for the operations facility includes detailing the building’s exterior insulated concrete form (ICF) bearing walls to fulfill the blast protection design criteria. The scope of work for the parking canopies includes designing a basic framing system with moment resisting frames and steel ordinary moment frames to comply with the load criteria.
