DNRC Office Building: Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation Scores Green Gold

Completed Fall 2016, the three-story, energy-efficient office building is where the Montana Department of Natural Resources & Conservation (DNRC) calls home. The new DNRC headquarters, located in downtown Helena, boasts energy efficient construction and water usage. The framing is comprised of composite beams and decking with special concentrically braced frames as the main force resisting system.

Project Highlights

  • Lateral concentrically braced frames were fabricated as single weldments and kept at or below the standard 12-foot maximum for standard shipping, allowing the structure to be erected within 10 business days.
