The Residences at Pacific City is a development of six new luxury residential buildings on top of a common concrete podium built along the Pacific Coast Highway. The four-story development complements the laid-back beach house vibe characterizing Huntington Beach. Residences at Pacific City include 516 units ranging from one-bedroom/studio apartments to three-bedroom penthouse apartments. The units have floor-to-ceiling windows; some have semi-recessed balconies. Each building includes a levels of underground parking (a total of 1,099 stalls on the property). The amenity building includes a fitness gym, entertainment room, and meeting area. Other site features include a 5,000-sf swimming pool and six courtyards.
DCI Engineers was the EOR for the project and designed the primary building systems for Residences at Pacific City. They designed the foundation, reinforcing plans, and connection details for the concrete, steel, and CMU elements. Since the site was originally an oil field, the crew filled five depleted oil wells with concrete to prepare for further construction on the 1,312,000-gsf site. The construction crew constructed a 1,500-yard concrete slab for the foundation.
