Creating a Winery Learning Center: Providing structural solutions for this unique higher education facility

DCI Engineers provided structural engineering services for this new winery learning center at Umpqua Community College. It functions as a multi-level classroom, assembly area, and wine production and storage facility.

Project Highlights

Upper level is used primarily for education, administration, and hospitality functions, while the lower level is used for wine production and storage.
Lower level barrel storage, themed wine cave, and fermentation room is framed with concrete walls. The main floor is steel framed.
The exposed roof structure is framed with a heavy curved timber roof system.
