Volkar Center for Athletic Achievement

Go Zags!: New facility honors university’s athletes

The Volkar Center of Athletic Achievement is a new 52,240-sf athletic center on the Gonzaga University campus. The three level building includes a basketball practice court, weight room, film room, Hall of Honor, and offices.

DCI Engineers was the engineer of record for the project and designed the facility’s steel framing systems and roof with a custom truss to handle specific snow loads. They provided detailing for the concrete tilt-up walls and integrated seismic joints into the building’s framing systems.
