Tactical Work:

  • Develop, coordinate, and direct production of engineering project documents.
  • Work with other experienced Project Managers and utilize DCI tools and historic data to prepare fee proposals and contracts.
  • Develop workload and scheduling projections for project staff.
  • Oversee and perform calculations, design, and analysis of applicable elements for projects, utilizing the appropriate code standards and DCI standards.
  • Adhering to DCI standards, work collaboratively with the engineering team and drafting department to coordinate design details and construction document requirements.
  • Review completed drafting.
  • Communicate effectively with clients via design meetings, as well as written formats.
  • Oversee and/or perform construction observations and write construction observation reports or review those assigned to be written by others.
  • Review and/or oversee the review of shop drawings during construction.
  • Communicate with contractor(s) during construction.
  • Proactively evaluate additional service requests, review billing, and coordinate permit responses and construction support services throughout projects.
  • Coach/mentor project engineers and CAD designers on projects.
  • Attend trainings and meetings relative to your position.
  • Train, self-study, and know all applicable and updated building and material codes.
  • Keep abreast of new and revised building standards and methods to promote efficient, buildable and effective designs.
  • Engage with senior management in the development of systems, processes, and projects for the Company.
  • Engage in horizontal marketing to work toward developing a client base.  Invite different clients to a casual lunch outing, or similar, 2-3 times quarterly (or as needed) to build relationships with other professionals.

  • Review shop drawings during construction administration as directed by project manager.
  • Write construction observation reports as directed by project manager.
  • Communicate with contractor during construction as directed by project manager.
  • Attend trainings and meetings relative to your position.
  • Train, self-study, and know all applicable and updated building and material codes.
  • Engage in the development of systems, processes, and projects for the Company as approved by your direct manager.
