We envision new health science programs here, solid research opportunities for our community and increasingly more collaborative efforts in this new state-of-the-art space.”
Regional Health Partnership: Spokane facility to become state-of-the-art hub for medical education
This state-of-the-art facility is another example of Spokane’s effort to grow its reputation as a medical and healthcare hotspot and to draw more industry professionals to the area. The new four-story building health and life sciences building is utilized by Gonzaga and University of Washington medical faculty and students. McKinstry owns, operates, and leases the facility to both universities for their Regional Health Partnership program. The 110,000-sf building will include teaching rooms, laboratory spaces, research and administrative offices, plus parking and roof deck amenity space.
DCI Engineers is the structural and civil EOR for the estimated $60M construction project. The structural team has designed the building’s steel framing, ordinary moment frames, ordinary brace frames, and floor systems. DCI’s civil department will work with the Washington State Department of Transportation regarding a site easement and the Spokane Transit Authority for adding a nearby bus stop.
