Mark D. Aden

President, Los Angeles

"There is nothing like the joy of seeing a building in construction or completed, and knowing that you played a critical role in bringing that to fruition.  Very few professions can deliver that sort of tangible satisfaction."

Mark began his structural engineering career in Seattle after his graduate studies at the University of Washington ended in 1985.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Walla Walla University in 1984.  When Mark joined DCI in 1998, he promptly moved across the state and opened the company’s new office in Spokane.  Working his way through school as a hod carrier on masonry projects gave him valuable insight into the importance of a true relationship between builder and designer, and he has carried that commitment to buildable and in-budget design throughout his career.

  • What is your dream project location? I’ve always loved working in Hawaii.
  • What would you name an engineering superhero? Constructo! Or maybe the Man of Steel!
  • What is your favorite thing about the DCI work environment? The shared commitment to NEVER letting down our clients.
