My favorite part of a project is the concept stage. At this point, the possibilities are endless. It’s fun to imagine where it might go next and what it might take to get there.”

Since joining the company in 2000, Brent has been an important member of the DCI team. With 25+ years His structural engineering and design experience ranges from office buildings to single and multi-family residences to mixed-use podium projects. If you weren’t an engineer, what would you be? I would probably be a carpenter. I love working with my hands and creating things out of nothing. I’m sure I would go hungry though because I’m way too slow and picky.

What was your favorite class in college? Approximate Structural Design. It was the one course in my structural curriculum that allowed me to think outside of the box without having to follow a set formula.

Where is your hometown? Nepean, Ontario, Canada.
