Even from an early age, Vanessa found meaning in numbers. It started when she was assisting with the financials of her family’s restaurant business, discovering the order in complex information, and has since turned into a full career.
Upon earning her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Eastern Washington University, Vanessa spent time in public accounting before transitioning to the AEC industry where she joined DCI in 2023.
Her work involves analyzing data, identifying patterns, and turning information into meaningful insights, bridging the gap between complexity and clarity that ultimately guides decisions and drives strategy.
If you weren’t an accountant, what would you be?
I think I would have been a veterinarian. Growing up around livestock sparked my love for animals early on, and I’ve always been drawn to the idea of caring for them.
What is your favorite piece of historical architecture?
The Alhambra in Granada, Spain. I visited it and was amazed by the blend of Moorish and European influences, the detailed carvings, arches, and courtyards were stunning. It really shows how history and culture can come together in architecture.
How would you describe the perfect day?
A sunny beach, sipping coconut water straight from the source, and soaking up as much sun as possible, basically living my best “tropical postcard” life.
